‎Off Campus A Defend Crown with 1-0 Win Over Area IV in Thrilling ADUSTECH Inter-Hostel Final

‎Defending champions Off Campus A retained their title in style on thursday, July 16, 2026, after edging Area IV 1-0 in a thrilling final of the Sixth Edition of the Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, ADUSTECH, Inter-Hostel Football Competition at the University Sports Arena. 
‎The final, played before a packed crowd of students and staff, delivered three weeks of entertaining football to a close. Off Campus A scored the only goal of the match to secure back-to-back titles, while Area IV put up a spirited fight that kept fans on the edge of their seats until the final whistle.
‎A total of eight hostels contested the three-week tournament for top honours. In recognition of their efforts, the University rewarded all participating hostels with N1.3 million in prize money to be distributed according to their final positions. Dangote Hall finished third in the competition.
‎In his remarks at the closing ceremony, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Musa Tukur Yakasai, described the tournament as a success story for sports development at ADUSTECH. “No winner, no vanquished. Everyone is a winner,” he said. “Sports unite us, empower us, and give us physical health.” The VC emphasized discipline as the key to success and urged students to focus more on their studies, character building, and skill acquisition. He also called on students to register for their voter cards in order to elect patriotic leaders.
‎The VC commended the organizers for a hitch-free competition. He expressed gratitude to the Dean of Students Affairs, Professor Abdulkadir Muhammad Dambazau, the Chairman Sports Committee Professor Adamu Abdullah, the Director of Sports, Abubakar Abdussalam, Deputy Director Administration Nura Muhammad, Deputy Director Technical Sunusi Mamuda, their supporting staff, and all principal officers and members of the university community for their unwavering support in making the competition a success.
‎Individual awards were also presented. Mohd Salisu of Dangote Hall emerged as the highest goal scorer with 5 goals, while Ahmad Saminu from Off Campus A was named Most Valuable Player of the tournament. Area I Hostel was recognized as the most behaved hostel. Each of the three awardees received N30,000 in cash prizes.
