‎ADUSTECH Wudil Honours VC Yakasai for Transforming University Sports

‎The Vice-Chancellor of Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology (ADUST), Wudil, Professor Musa Tukur Yakasai, was honoured by the university’s Directorate of Sports on thursday 14th May 2026 in his office. The recognition ceremony was announced in a press statement signed by the University Information and Public Relations Unit Officer, Baffa A. Hamdullahi.

‎The award of honour was presented to the Vice-Chancellor in appreciation of his immense support for the development of sports in the university since he assumed office. According to the Director of Sports, Abdussalam Garba, the gesture was also meant to express gratitude for the attention and total commitment the Vice-Chancellor has consistently given to sporting activities on campus.
Responding, Professor Yakasai expressed delight at the honour and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the Sports Directorate and other units across the university. “We will make sure we put in our best to ensure success,” he stated, pledging continued investment in sports and student welfare.
‎The Chairman of the Sports Committee, Prof. Adamu Abdullahi Shehu, also thanked the Vice-Chancellor for his consistent backing and assistance to all sporting activities in the university. He noted that the support had significantly improved the standard and morale of student athletes.
In a vote of thanks, the Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Abdulkadir Muhammad, speaking on behalf of students and the entire university community, extended heartfelt appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor for reviving sporting activities. He used the opportunity to appeal for additional volleyball courts and other facilities for female students to encourage wider participation.
‎The items presented to the Vice-Chancellor included a plaque, a jumbo portrait of the Vice-Chancellor, and sports kits. University officials said the gesture reflects the growing partnership between management and the Sports Directorate in promoting a vibrant sports culture at ADUSTECH Wudil.
