Steron Foundation DG Rains ₦9M Cash Prizes On Tournament Winners

‎The Director General of Steron Foundation, Abubakar Sadiq Mni, yesterday splashed ₦9 million in cash prizes at the closing ceremony of the Steron Foundation Football Tournament at Sani Abacha Stadium.

‎The tournament, which featured teams from 15 Local Government Areas across the Kano Senatorial District, concluded in grand style. In his remarks, Abubakar Sadiq emphasized that the competition aimed to identify and nurture talented footballers, providing them opportunities to showcase their skills internationally. He revealed that selected players would be sponsored abroad through the Steron Foundation.

‎A young player from Nasarawa LGA emerged Man of the Tournament and has been nominated for the Nigeria national under-17 football team by special guest Alh. Dr. Sharif Rabiu I. Ahlan, who serves in key football administrative roles in NFF, CAF, and FIFA.

‎Gwale LGA emerged champions, winning ₦5 million, a trophy, and gold medals. Nasarawa LGA finished runners-up with ₦3 million, a trophy, and silver medals, while Dala LGA secured third place with ₦1 million, a trophy, and bronze medals.

‎The initiative highlights Abubakar Sadiq Mni's commitment to human capital development through sports. Appreciation goes to coordinators, the social media team, handlers, and the Local Organizing Committee led by Alh. Hassan Garo for ensuring the tournament's success.
