Barau FC Arrives in Asaba, Aims for NPFL Promotion

Barau Football Club of Kano State has touched down in Asaba, Delta State, ahead of the highly anticipated Nigerian National League (NNL) Super Eight 2025 playoffs. The Maliya Boys are eager to secure promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) for the 2025/26 season.

According to a statement issued by the club's Media Officer, Ahmad Hamisu Gwale, Barau FC arrived in Asaba on Wednesday with a strong squad of 32 players, accompanied by over 15 officials and the coaching staff. The team is determined to work hard and deliver their best performance in the competition to secure a coveted spot in the NPFL.

The NNL Super Eight tournament is set to take place at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, Delta State, from July 5 to 12, 2025. Eight teams have qualified for the prestigious event, including Barau FC, Warri Wolves, Osun United, Crown FC, Kun Khalifa FC of Owerri, Wikki Tourists of Bauchi, Yobe Desert Stars, and Doma United of Gombe.

The competition will not only determine the four teams that will gain promotion to the NPFL for the 2025/26 season but also crown the overall winner of the 2024/25 NNL season. With the stage set and the stakes high, Barau FC is ready to put on a show and make their mark in the tournament.

The new kick-off date is now set for August 20th, instead of the initially announced August 13th.
