NFF President 2025 Pre-Season Football Tournament

The 2025 NFF President Pre-Season Tournament, tagged Gusau/Ahlan Cup, is scheduled to take place in Lafia, the capital city of Nasarawa State. According to Abuhuraira Dahiru, Coordinator of the prestigious tournament, the tournament will run from July 27th to August 13th, 2025, reports SportsZone.

In a press statement signed by Rilwanu Idris Malikawa, Tournament Media Coordinator, Abuhuraira stated that the Nasarawa State Government, under the leadership of sports-loving Governor Engineer Abdullahi Sule, is the major host of this year's edition. He disclosed that 16 teams from the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) and Nigeria National League (NNL) have been selected nationwide to participate.

The Organizing Committee will conclude registrations in the second week of July. Abuhuraira thanked the Nasarawa State Football Association and State Ministry of Sports for their collaboration, urging teams and stakeholders to work together to make this edition the best.

The Gusau/Ahlan Cup aims to honor the commitment of its namesakes to football promotion. Abuhuraira emphasized, "Our committee will ensure justice and fair play for all participating clubs." The team draws will be released two days before the kickoff.

Governor Abdullahi Sule is expected to attend the opening and closing ceremonies, which will feature awards for contributors to the tournament's success.
