FCT FA Chairman Honoured with Prestigious Chieftaincy Title

The Emir of Bwari Area Council, His Royal Highness Dr. Ibrahim Yaro (JP), the 17th Sa-Bwaya, Esu Bwari and Chairman Council of Traditional Rulers Bwari Area Council, FCT. will confer the traditional title of "Abegyi Bwaya" on Alhaji Adam Mohammed Mukhtar, Sports Icon, Philanthropist and Chairman of the FCT Abuja Football Association, on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at the palace in Bwari Area Abuja 10:00am.This honor recognizes Mohammed's outstanding contributions to the Bwari Area Community, FCT, and Nigeria through his philanthropic efforts, humanitarian aid, and youth development initiatives over the past two decades. 

In a letter personally signed by the Royal Father to FCT FA Chairman, Mouktar, the Traditional Ruler, stated that, the title is in recognition of his good service and hardwork in development and progress of Bwari Chiefdom and the FCT in general. 

The title "Abegyi Bwaya" translates to "Progress of Bwari," reflecting the positive impact of Mohammed's work on the community. His dedication to promoting football development, youth empowerment, and societal progress has earned him widespread respect and admiration.

Mohammed expressed gratitude for the honor, stating, "I feel very honored being conferred with such a prestigious title. This is a huge motivation for me. I am passionate about society and human development, especially in job creation, skills acquisition, and youth empowerment." He thanked the Emir, the people of Bwari, and the FCT FA family for their support.

As Chairman of the FCT Football Association, Mohammed has demonstrated exemplary leadership, inspiring youths to be diligent and forward-thinking. His commitment to developing sports infrastructure, including the rebuilding of the Bwari Township Stadium, has benefited the community and promoted grassroots sports development.²
