Empowering the Future of Football: 2025 NYML/NLO Virtual Management Workshop Announced

In an effort to drive growth and enhance operational effectiveness within the Nationwide League One (NLO), STW Nigeria Limited in partnership with NYML/NLO has announced the upcoming 2025 NYML/NLO Virtual Management Workshop. Scheduled for April 17-18, 2025, this significant event aims to equip NLO club managers with essential tools and insights necessary for navigating the modern landscape of sporting business.

The workshop boasts a lineup of esteemed professionals from the football industry, offering participants a chance to gain invaluable knowledge on a wide range of topics that include financial management, brand-building, and sustainability.

Day One: April 17, 2025

- 10:15 AM - 11:00 AM: *Transfers in Amateur Football* led by Mr. Nasiru Jibril

- 11:05 AM - 11:50 AM: *Financial Management for Clubs in the Nationwide League One* presented by Dr. Damilola Adedotun

- 11:50 AM - 12:05 PM: Break

- 12:10 PM - 12:55 PM: *Building a Strong Club Brand: Fan Engagement Strategies* by Ms. Nkechi Obi

- 1:00 PM - 1:45 PM: *Sustainability in Football: Environmental Responsibility and Initiatives* delivered by Dr. Olufemi Onifade

Day Two: April 18, 2025

- 10:15 AM - 11:00 AM: *Leadership and Governance in Football Management* by Professor Morounfolu M.

- 11:05 AM - 11:50 AM: *Mental Health Among Amateur Football Players in Nigeria* presented by Dr. Robinson Okosun

- 11:50 AM - 12:05 PM: Break

- 12:10 PM - 1:00 PM: *Discussion on the NLO Rule Book* with the NLO Chief Operating Officer

All NLO clubs will receive a link to participate prior to the event, and active involvement is encouraged to promote collaborative growth and development within the league.

This workshop represents a vital opportunity for NLO clubs to not only enhance their management strategies but also contribute to the overall advancement of football in Nigeria.

Gusau/Ahalan 2024 Preseason Cup Kick-Off Date Rescheduled

By Muzammil Dalha Yola  The kick off date of the Nigeria Football Federation President, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau MON tournament tagged Gusau/Ahalan 2024 pre-season, has been shifted by oneweek. The new kick-off date is now set for August 20th, instead of the initially announced August 13th. According to the tournament coordinator, Alhaji Abahurarai Dahiru, the decision to reschedule was made after consultations with stakeholders, who agreed that the recent "End of Bad Government" protests in some parts of the country warranted a postponement. The venue for the tournament remains the New Stadium, Zaria Road, Jos, in Plateau State. Sixteen football teams from the NPFL and NNL have confirmed their participation, and are expected to arrive in Jos on August 19th. The draws will be held on the same day, with the opening match scheduled for August 20th at 4 pm.
