A promising young footballer from Kano State, Abdulmajid Bello Nana, has successfully negotiated with his Italian club, Carpo de Leuca, to establish a junior team in Kano. The team will focus on training talented young players under the age of 15, who will then be sent abroad to pursue their football careers.
The development was initiated by Kano State Governor, Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf, when Abdulmajid Nana paid him a courtesy visit in Kano. During the visit, the governor requested Abdulmajid Nana's assistance in creating opportunities for young footballers in the state. Subsequently, Abdulmajid Nana met with the club president and secured a commitment to establish a junior team in Kano.
According to Abdulmajid Nana, the club president has agreed to move forward with the plan, and he will soon submit the necessary documents to the Kano State government for finalization. Sani Mohammed Kawo has been appointed as the director of the Carpo De Leuca club in Nigeria.
The partnership aims to provide a platform for young footballers in Kano to develop their skills and pursue professional careers abroad. Every year, talented young players will be selected and sent to Italy to play for Carpo de Leuca, providing them with valuable international experience and exposure.
