DSP Barau Lends Support to Barau FC Players and Officials with Generous Cash Donation Ahead of Ramadan

In a show of commendable support for local sports, Deputy President of the Senate, Distinguished Senator Barau Jibrin, has made a generous cash donation to the players, coaches, and officials of Barau Football Club ahead of the holy month of Ramadan. This act of kindness aims to bolster the morale of the team during the fasting period.

The announcement was made via a press statement issued on Friday by the club's media officer, Ahmad Hamisu Gwale. He detailed that the donation was intended to provide assistance to the team as they prepare for the spiritual month of Ramadan.

The cash donation was presented by Hon. Kabiru Ado Lakwaya, Senator Barau Jibrin’s Special Adviser on Youth and Sports, who handed it over to the club's management in a ceremony held in Kano. 

During the presentation, Hon. Kabiru Ado Lakwaya emphasized Senator Barau Jibrin's unwavering commitment to the welfare of Barau FC and the community at large during this significant period. He expressed the Senator's belief in the importance of supporting local sports teams to promote unity and shared values.

In a heartfelt response, the club captain, Salim Ali, conveyed gratitude on behalf of the players, expressing their appreciation for the Deputy President's steadfast support of the club's welfare. "This gesture not only uplifts our spirits but also strengthens our resolve to perform at our best," he stated.

The event was well-attended, featuring notable figures such as the club's chairman, Ambassador Ibrahim Shitu Chanji, Board Member Alhaji Abdul AP, and Sporting Director Yahya Muhd, all of whom expressed their satisfaction with the support provided to the team.

As Barau FC prepares for their upcoming fixtures, this generous contribution from DSP Barau Jibrin serves as a significant motivation for the players and officials, enhancing their determination as they embark on the second stanza of the NNL 2024/25 season amidst the spirit of Ramadan.

The new kick-off date is now set for August 20th, instead of the initially announced August 13th. According to the tournament coordinator, Alhaji Abahurarai Dahiru, the decision to reschedule was made after consultations with stakeholders, who agreed that the recent "End of Bad Government" protests in some parts of the country warranted a postponement.
