NYLC Winner To Pocket ₦40 Million As Organizers Announce Lucrative Prizes

In a bid to incentivize participation and competition in the Nigeria Youth League Cup (NYLC), the organizers have announced a mouth-watering cash prize of ₦40 million for the tournament's winner.

In addition to the grand prize, participants from the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) and the Nigeria National League will each receive a participation fee of ₦5 million, while academies will receive ₦1 million each.

The NYLC, which is divided into two conferences - Northern and Southern - features a total of 30 teams, including top NPFL clubs like Lobi Stars, Kwara United, Enyimba FC, and Rivers United, as well as academies and smaller clubs.

Gusau/Ahalan 2024 Preseason Cup Kick-Off Date Rescheduled

By Muzammil Dalha Yola  The kick off date of the Nigeria Football Federation President, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau MON tournament tagged Gusau/Ahalan 2024 pre-season, has been shifted by oneweek. The new kick-off date is now set for August 20th, instead of the initially announced August 13th. According to the tournament coordinator, Alhaji Abahurarai Dahiru, the decision to reschedule was made after consultations with stakeholders, who agreed that the recent "End of Bad Government" protests in some parts of the country warranted a postponement. The venue for the tournament remains the New Stadium, Zaria Road, Jos, in Plateau State. Sixteen football teams from the NPFL and NNL have confirmed their participation, and are expected to arrive in Jos on August 19th. The draws will be held on the same day, with the opening match scheduled for August 20th at 4 pm.
