Sunshine Stars FC has declared three of its players, Abdulrafiu Taiwo, Osimaga Duke, and Lucky Nwafor, as Absent Without Official Leave (AWOL). The club's management announced that the trio has failed to report for pre-season training without permission.
According to the club, the players' absence is unacceptable and has disrupted the team's preparation for the upcoming Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season. Sunshine Stars has warned other clubs and agents not to engage in transfer dealings with the three players without the club's explicit approval.
The declaration of the players as AWOL is a clear indication that Sunshine Stars is taking a firm stance on discipline and professionalism within the team. The club is determined to ensure that all players adhere to the rules and regulations governing their contracts and participation in team activities.
The move also serves as a warning to other players who may be contemplating similar actions, emphasizing the club's commitment to maintaining a cohesive and dedicated squad.
Sunshine Stars is expected to take further action to address the situation and ensure that the affected players face appropriate consequences for their actions. The club's fans and supporters will be watching closely as the situation unfolds.
