Meet Abubakar Saminu: Kano's Young Football Sensation

Abubakar Saminu, a 16-year-old attacking midfielder from Kano, is making waves in the Nigerian football scene. Nicknamed "Habu Goma," Saminu currently plays for Sky Academy in Kano, a NLO Division One club, where he has racked up an impressive 19 goals and 21 assists in 68 games.

Saminu's exceptional performance has earned him recognition, with his previous stints at Golden Bullet FC and Highlanders FC paving the way for his move to Sky Academy. The young midfielder's talent and dedication have drawn comparisons to Nigerian football legend, Rabiu Ali, who is also from Kano.

Ali, a former CHAN Super Eagles captain and NPFL legend, is Saminu's idol and inspiration. The teenager looks up to Ali's achievements and hopes to emulate his success in the future.

With his sights set on the next chapter of his football career, Saminu is gearing up for the challenges of playing at the highest level. His impressive stats and skillset make him a promising prospect for Nigerian football, and fans are eagerly awaiting his rise to stardom.

Gusau/Ahalan 2024 Preseason Cup Kick-Off Date Rescheduled

By Muzammil Dalha Yola  The kick off date of the Nigeria Football Federation President, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau MON tournament tagged Gusau/Ahalan 2024 pre-season, has been shifted by oneweek. The new kick-off date is now set for August 20th, instead of the initially announced August 13th. According to the tournament coordinator, Alhaji Abahurarai Dahiru, the decision to reschedule was made after consultations with stakeholders, who agreed that the recent "End of Bad Government" protests in some parts of the country warranted a postponement. The venue for the tournament remains the New Stadium, Zaria Road, Jos, in Plateau State. Sixteen football teams from the NPFL and NNL have confirmed their participation, and are expected to arrive in Jos on August 19th. The draws will be held on the same day, with the opening match scheduled for August 20th at 4 pm.
