ADUST Wudil Hosts Thrilling 11th Edition Inter Faculty Games

The 11th Edition Inter Faculty Games at Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology (ADUST) Wudil came to a close on Wednesday, 7th August 2024, with six faculties competing in various sports. The final matches saw Faculty of Engineering (FAENG) win the football tournament against Faculty of Earth and Environmental Sciences (FAEES) in a penalty shootout, while the Faculty of Agric and Agricultural Technology (FAAT) took home the baseball title. The Faculty of Science and Technology Education (FASTE) emerged victorious in volleyball.

The final medal table saw FASTE top with 23 medals, followed by FAENG with 13 medals, and FAAT also with 13 medals, FACSI in fourth with 4 medals including 3 gold, the fifth is the FACMS with 9 medals of only silver and bronze. The last and the sixth is the FAEES with only 2 medals of silver.

The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) Chairman and Deputy Director of Sports Nura Muhammad expressed his gratitude to the University Vice Chancellor, principal officers, students, and LOC members for their efforts in making the tournament a success. He also said the games showcased the sporting talents of the students and promoted unity and friendly competition among the faculties.

As you may recall that ADUST Wudil will be hosting the NUGA Zone E preliminary games later this year. The eleventh edition of the ADUST Wudil Vice Chancellor Inter Faculty Games have served as a preparatory platform for scouting players to represent ADUST, as well as a testing ground for the facilities in anticipation of hosting the NUGA Zone E preliminary games later this year.

NUGA Council Fixes Date for Zone E Preliminaries

This decision was made during the Council's meeting at ADUSTECH Wudil, attended by representatives from various universities in the zone. According to Abdullahi Datti Abdullahi, Chairman of the LOC Media & Publicity Committee, the Council discussed events, modalities, rules, and regulations, as well as necessary facilities to be provided. Prof. Abdulkadir Muhammad Danbazau, Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee, expressed ADUSTECH's readiness to host the competition successfully.
