SWAN Kano State Chapter Urges Government to Appoint Technocrats to Manage Sports Affairs

The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kano State Chapter, appeals to the Kano State Government to appoint technocrats and professionals with vast knowledge of sports to manage the affairs of Kano Pillars FC and all other sports sectors in the state. This move, we believe, will yield positive outcomes and elevate the standard of sports in Kano State. This was disclosed by the association press release signed by its Chairman and Secretary Zaharaddeen Sale and Muhammad Nur Tijjani on saturday 13th July 2024.

SWAN also calls for the renovations and upgrading of Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano Pillars Stadium, Mahaha Sports Complex, Ado Bayero Square, and all other sporting facilities in the state. This will provide conducive environments for athletes to thrive and host national and international events.

To support the development of sports in Kano State, SWAN Kano Chapter has established an advisory committee comprising experienced and intellectual members who are willing and ready to serve in any capacity. Our committee has a comprehensive blueprint to develop sports in the state.

SWAN Kano State Chapter, sympathizes with the current crises affecting Kano Pillars FC. We understand the challenges the team is facing and urge all stakeholders to work together to resolve the issues. Our thoughts are with the players, coaches, and fans during this difficult time. We believe in the resilience of the club and the passion of its supporters. We hope for a swift resolution and a return to success for Kano Pillars FC.

We wish the state government and the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Kano, success in their endeavors and look forward to collaborating with them to advance sports in Kano State
