Barau FC Set to Shine in Gusau/Ahlan Pre-season 2024 Tournament

Barau Football Club has confirmed its participation in the upcoming Gusau/Ahlan Pre-season 2024 Tournament, scheduled to take place from August 13th to 25th in Jos, Plateau State. This was disclosed in a press statement signed by the club's Media Officer, Ahmad Hamisu Gwale.

The team, recently promoted to the Nigerian National League (NNL), aims to fine-tune its skills and integrate new players ahead of the new season.

According to the tournament coordinator, Abahuraira Dahiru, 16 clubs from the Nigerian Football Premier League (NPFL) and NNL will participate in the competition. The tournament will kick off on Tuesday, August 13th, with all participants expected to arrive in Plateau State on Monday, August 12th for draws and pre-match formalities.

The tournament promises to be an exciting event, with the President of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau MON, declaring the tournament open. The Plateau State Governor, Barrister Caleb Muftwang, will be a special guest of honor, and the Plateau State Football Association Chairman, Alhaji Yahya Kwande, will be the chief host.

Barau FC's participation in the tournament is a strategic move to prepare for the upcoming season, following their promotion to the NNL after a victorious match against Yoca Crocodiles in the NLO Promotion Play-off in Abuja. The team is eager to make a strong impression in the tournament and set the tone for a successful season ahead.
