The Kano Pillars football club showcased their resilience and determination as they secured a spot in the semi-finals of the President's Federation Cup after a nail-biting encounter against Sunshine Stars. The match, which was played at the Area Three pitch in Abuja, ended in a 1-1 draw, leading to a dramatic penalty shootout.

Despite some intense moments throughout the game, Kano Pillars managed to take the lead in the 35th minute, only for Sunshine Stars to equalize just before half-time. With no clear winner emerging after the regular time, the fate of both teams was left to be decided by penalty kicks.

In a display of skill and composure, Kano Pillars successfully converted all five of their penalty kicks, while Sunshine Stars fell short, scoring only four. This thrilling victory propelled Kano Pillars into the final four of the competition, much to the delight of their supporters and coaching staff.

Acting Technical Adviser of the Kano team, Gaffer Ahmed Garba Yaro Yaro, commended his players for their outstanding performance and urged them to maintain their momentum as they progress further in the tournament. The Executive Chairman of the club, Alhaji Babangida Umar Little, expressed his appreciation for the unwavering support and resources provided by Kano State Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf and the Commissioner for Sports, Hon Mustapha Rabi'u Musa Kwankwaso.

The semi-final pairings will see Abia Warriors confront Kano Pillars while Kebbi United battles Sokoto United in an NNL affair. As Kano Pillars continue their journey in the President's Federation Cup, the hope and prayers of their loyal supporters and the people of Kano remain steadfast, rallying behind the team as they strive for success in the competition.
