Kano Pillars FC Triumph Over Katsina United, Advances to Quarterfinals of President Federation Cup

Kano Pillars Football Club showcased their skill and determination as they secured a spot in the quarterfinals of the 2023/24 Federation Cup by defeating Katsina United in a thrilling match at the New Jos International Stadium. The game ended in a 1-1 draw after regulation time, leading to a penalty shootout, where Kano Pillars emerged victorious with an 8-7 scoreline.

The match saw Mustapha Ibrahim Yuga of Kano Pillars scoring an early goal in the 8th minute, setting the tone for the intense encounter. Despite Katsina United equalizing in the 65th minute, both teams displayed unwavering efforts to secure the win, but it came down to the nerve-wracking penalty shootout.

The hero of the day for Kano Pillars was goalkeeper Mohammad Galadima, whose resilience and outstanding performance helped the team clinch the victory. Acting Technical Adviser, Ahmed Garba Yaro Yaro, commended the team's spirit and determination in overcoming their opponents.

Executive Chairman, Alh. Babangida Umar Little, praised the players for their outstanding performance and making Kano proud. He urged them to maintain their enthusiasm and strive for success in the upcoming matches.

Acknowledgments were also given to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and Commissioner of Sports, Hon. Mustapha Rabi'u Musa Kwankwaso, for their continuous support in motivating and backing the team.

Kano Pillars FC's next challenge will be against Sunshine Stars of Akure in the quarterfinals, as they aim to progress further in the prestigious President Federation Cup and potentially secure a spot in the semi-finals.
