‎GGC Dala Principal Lauds NSSF for Sports Development Efforts

‎The leadership of the Nigerian School Sports Federation (NSSF) has been commended for its laudable programmes aimed at promoting and developing various sporting activities across the country.
‎The Director/Principal of Government Girls College (GGC) Dala Kano, Hajia Hauwa Nuhu Wali, made the commendation while receiving executive members of the NSSF led by its President, Mrs. Olabisi Joseph, who paid her a courtesy visit in her office in Kano.
‎The visit was part of the activities lined up for a workshop organized by the NSSF in collaboration with the Nigerian Olympic Committee (NOC), with support from Olympic Solidarity.
‎According to the Principal, the Federation’s leadership deserves commendation for organizing various sporting events at both state and federal government levels despite the financial constraints facing the NSSF.
‎Hajia Hauwa Wali called on local, state, and federal governments, as well as multinational corporations, to partner with the Federation to actualize its objectives.
‎The Principal pledged to continue providing facilities for NSSF officials whenever the need arises, to complement their efforts for the overall development of sports nationwide.
‎While expressing gratitude to the NSSF for choosing the school to host the workshop out of hundreds of schools in the state, she described sports as a significant factor that unites various ethnic groups in the country.
‎She also pledged to attend the closing ceremony of the workshop, scheduled to hold tomorrow, Tuesday 12 May 2026, at the conference hall of the college.
‎Earlier, the President of the NSSF, Mrs. Olabisi Joseph, thanked Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, the Ministry of Education, and the college authorities for the support and cooperation given to the Federation.
‎Mrs. Olabisi Joseph added that the Federation has been doing everything possible to complement the efforts of the National Sports Commission (NSC) and the Nigerian Olympic Committee (NOC) toward the overall development of sports in the country.
‎Meanwhile, the final of this year’s Inter-Secondary Schools Savannah Conference will hold today, Tuesday, at the indoor sports hall of Sani Abacha Sports Complex, Kofar Mata, Kano.

NUGA Council Fixes Date for Zone E Preliminaries
