Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology (ADUSTECH) Wudil recently hosted the NUGA Zone E Preliminary Games, a prestigious event that brought together top universities in the zone. The universities, includes Bayero University Kano, Northwest University Kano, Federal University Dutse, Sule Lamido University Kafin Hausa, Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University of Nigeria (KHAIRUN), and host ADUSTECH Wudil, competed fiercely for a ticket to the main national event of NUGA games, hosted by the University of Jos in November.
The Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee, Professor Abdulkadir Muhammad Dambazau, expressed his delight with the excellent hosting and hospitality extended to the visiting universities by the ADUSTECH community. He congratulated the athletes and universities that will represent the zone, urging them to be good ambassadors and make the zone proud by winning many medals in the national event.
Professor Dambazau praised the Vice Chancellor, Professor Musa Tukur Yakasai, and the university's principal officers for their moral and financial support, which made the event a historic and remarkable achievement. He also thanked the University Sports Directorate and LOC members for their tireless efforts, support, and vision, calling them the engine room of the event's success.
The new and upgraded facilities used during the event will be maintained and utilized by ADUSTECH students to develop sports within the university. Professor Dambazau emphasized that education and sports go hand-in-hand, highlighting the lucrative nature of the sports industry.
The event showcased the university's commitment to promoting sports and providing opportunities for students to excel in their chosen fields. ADUSTECH's hosting of the NUGA Zone E Preliminaries has put the university on the map, demonstrating its capabilities and dedication to excellence.
