Ahmed Musa MON, OON, the General Manager of Kano Pillars Football Club, has extended his sincerest apologies to the players, coaches, officials, and supporters of Shooting Stars Sports Club, match referees, league officials, and football fans across Nigeria and beyond. This comes after a violent incident marred the match between Kano Pillars and Shooting Stars on Sunday evening.
Musa described the incident as "heartbreaking," "shameful," and "completely unacceptable," emphasizing that it does not represent the true values and identity of Kano Pillars. He acknowledged that the club fell short of the expected standards of fairness and honor.
In his apology, Musa stated, "I tender an unreserved apology to everyone affected. Violence has no place in football. It is unacceptable, unjustifiable, and goes against everything this beautiful sport stands for." He assured that Kano Pillars FC will work closely with the relevant authorities to identify those responsible and ensure they face the consequences.
Musa emphasized the importance of discipline and respect in football, urging fans to support the club without resorting to violence. "We must remind the world that our love for this club can be powerful without being destructive, that our passion can lift its image, not stain it," he said.
Kano Pillars FC has pledged to take significant steps internally to prevent such incidents in the future. The club's management is committed to restoring trust, respect, and the true spirit of football in Kano and across Nigeria.
