Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau (MON), President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has taken office as the new President of the West African Football Union (WAFU) Zone B. The taking-over ceremony took place on Monday 30th June 2025 at the WAFU headquarters in Cocody Rivera 4 area of Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.
During the ceremony, Gusau met with staff of the organization, outlining his vision for the future of football in the region. As the new President of WAFU Zone B, Gusau is expected to provide leadership and direction to the organization, working to promote football development and cooperation among member countries.
Gusau's elevation to the position comes after the election of Mr. Kurt-Edwin Simeon Okraku, President of the Ghana Football Association, into the CAF Executive Committee at the congress in Egypt on March 12, 2025. Okraku has since been appointed CAF's second Vice President, creating a vacancy in the WAFU Zone B presidency.
As President of WAFU Zone B, Gusau will work closely with member countries to promote football development, improve governance, and enhance the competitiveness of teams in the region. With his wealth of experience in football administration, Gusau is well-positioned to lead WAFU Zone B and take the organization to greater heights.
