SWAN Jigawa State Chapter Elects New Executives

The Jigawa State chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has elected new executives to run the affairs of the association for the next three years.

The election, held on Wednesday, August 28th, 2024, saw all contestants win unopposed, according to Comrade Musa Ahmad Gumel, chairman of the electoral committee.

The new executives include:

- Chairman: Suleiman Isyaku Dambatta (Freedom Radio Dutse)

- Vice Chairman: Ibrahim Isyaku (Jigawa State Television)

- Secretary: Auwalu Muhammad (NTA Dutse)

- Assistant Secretary: Adamu Malali (Horizon FM Dutse)

- Treasurer: Nura Garba (Freedom Radio Dutse)

- Financial Secretary: Fatima Muhammad (Fa'ida FM Radio Malamadori)

- Welfare Officer: Ibrahim Sani Gidan Kwari

The newly elected executives were sworn in by Barrister Abdulkadir Lurwanu Fanini, led by the national President of SWAN, Comrade Benjamin Isiah.

In his message, the national President of the association, Comrade Benjamin Isiah, read by the National Ex-Officio, Alhaji Rilwanu Idris Malikawa Garu, congratulated the new executives and urged them to come up with new policies and programs that would promote sports journalists in Jigawa State.

The President expressed delight at the maturity shown by the members of the association in the state before, during, and after the election process and urged them to sustain the tempo.

The new chairman, Suleiman Isyaku Dambatta, promised to prioritize training programs, members' welfare, and securing a permanent secretariat in Dutse before the end of their tenure.
