In an official announcement, Portuguese top-flight side Boavista FC confirmed the signing of Nigerian midfielder Ibrahim Alhassan. The 27-year-old player has penned a two-year contract with the club, becoming their first acquisition for the 2024/25 season.
Alhassan returns to Portugal after a two-year stint with Beerschot in the Belgian second division, where he played a crucial role in the team's promotion to the top flight. The midfielder has also represented Nacional in Portugal between 2018 and 2022.
The Nigerian international expressed his excitement about joining Boavista FC, stating that he is a team player and is always available to help his teammates in any position. Alhassan has already established connections with some of his new teammates, including Bruno Onyemaechi and Chidozie Awaziem, with whom he has played for the Nigerian national team.
Boavista FC is expected to announce another signing soon, with Bruninho, an offensive midfielder from Atlético Mineiro, set to join the team.
