Shield City FC President, Mrs. Laura Wilson Sharpe, Honoured with Award of Excellence by KSFA

The President of Shield City FC, Mrs. Laura Wilson Sharpe, was honoured with the Award of Excellence by the Kano State Football Association (KSFA) at its awards night held at Meena Event Center, Lodge Road, Kano on Saturday, 22nd June 2024. The award was presented by the President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau.

In her acceptance speech, Mrs. Sharpe revealed that her interest in football was inspired by her son's passion for the sport. She was impressed by the talent and potential of the children in the team and decided to invest in their development. Despite the team being less than a year old, it has already made significant progress, with 28 players and a focus on education and character development.

Mrs. Sharpe expressed her commitment to providing support to the children, including education and personal development, with the goal of helping them become responsible and successful young people. She also emphasized the importance of discipline and good behavior, both on and off the field.

The award recognizes Mrs. Sharpe's dedication and contributions to the development of football in Kano State and her efforts to promote the well-being and success of young people through sports.
